Chef Opel Khan of Métisse is opening the doors to his latest venue Khānaa today in Sydney’s Surry Hills.
Khan is drawing upon his heritage for his latest venue, which will feature dishes, ingredients, and flavours the chef experienced during his childhood in Bangladesh.
Khan will be joined by his 23-year-old daughter Lucinda Khan and Jazz Singh in the Khānaa kitchen.
Khānaa is the Opel Khan Group’s fourth venue, alongside Potts Point’s Métisse, Acqua E Farina, and Pizza Boccone.
The menu at Khānaa features pichchi nola (small sharing plates), boro nola (large sharing plates), and mishti (desserts).
Some of the highlights include a 65-degrees egg with braised chickpea; an eggplant bhaji with macadamia paté and pepper glaze; plus barramundi with spinach bhaji and dal tadka.
On the dessert front, guests can expect dishes such as chai ganache with Jeera biscuit and an Aam panna sorbet with mango.
Khānaa by Opel Khan opens today and is located at 335 Crown Street, Surry Hills.
