Acclaimed culinary talent Jacqui Challinor has been swooped up by Melbourne’s Trader House group after departing Nomad last year.
Challinor has joined Andrew McConnell and Jo McGann’s Melbourne restaurant group as development chef, and will work closely with both McConnell and Trader House’s head chef team.
“I’ve always admired the restaurants that Andrew and Jo have created and the genuine care they have for their staff and guests,” says Challinor. “Their restaurants have always been amongst my favourite places to eat in Melbourne, if not the country. I’m beyond excited and honoured to join their ranks and work alongside such an incredibly talented team.”
Trader House is best known for its restaurants including Gimlet at Cavendish House, Supernormal, Apollo Inn, Cutler, and the Builders Arms Hotel in Melbourne as well as the Brisbane iteration of Supernormal and Bar Miette, which both opened last year.
Challinor joins after departing Nomad group last year, where she held the role of group executive chef after first joining Nomad Sydney back in 2013. She launched a number of venues for the group including Nomad Melbourne, Reine and La Rue, and Beau, which has now closed.
