Melbourne restaurateur Guy Grossi is bringing late-night bar Arlechin back to life.
The 40-seater is set to relaunch this Friday in the CBD with former Lakehouse Daylesford talent Russell Branford as bar venue manager.
Branford has worked closely with the Grossi family to revive Arlechin’s offering, which now has an Italian riff across the food and drink menus.
Guests can expect a tailor-made approach to cocktails, with the bar team making most of the elements in house such as tomato oil which features in the Puttanesca Martinez.
“This involves semi-dehydrating tomatoes until they have a leather texture, then blitzing them with a bit of heat and straining the juice out so you’re left with this beautiful aromatic flavour which is faint in colour,” says Branford.
Classic cocktails are also available and span a barrel-aged Negroni to a Bellini and a Paloma, as well as any special requests.
Share plates form most of the food menu, with guests able to start with salumi and pickled vegetables before moving on to midnight spaghetti, carbonara, or a Bolognese jaffle.
“Our menu truly embraces the essence of Italian simplicity and sophistication whilst complementing the drinks list,” says Guy Grossi.
“The beauty of Arlechin is its location and offering. If you’re dining at one of our sibling restaurants and looking for a nightcap to continue your evening, it’s just a short walk around the corner.”
Arlechin is located on Mornane Place and will open Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm until 1am from 24 May.
