City fringe restaurant Beckett’s has confirmed it the appointment of a new head chef and restaurant manager.
The Sydney eatery opened its doors back in 2021, serving classic Euro cuisine in Glebe.
And now Julien Ombredane will usher the restaurant into its next chapter as head chef after time at QT Sydney and the InterContinental in Marseille, France.
The chef is set to hone classic plates as well as launch some new additions to the menus, drawing influences from French and Mediterranean flavours.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my joy for beautiful food to the venue and introducing special dishes, including my favourites prawn ravioli and vanilla creme brûlée to diners,” he says.
“Beckett’s is such a wonderful space with so much potential. I’m ready to get started.”
Philipp Tengler has been appointed restaurant manager, who joins from Mode Kitchen & Bar, A’Mare, and The Star’s Black and Flying Fish, with Samantha Greaves taking on the role of bar manager.
Greaves will revise the drinks offering at Becketts, which will see new cocktail additions sitting alongside a wine list of local and international drops.
“Beckett’s has been designed to bring New York and Paris/London nostalgia and
charm to Sydney,” says Owner Wendy Beckett. “We invite guests to pop by for martinis and nibbles on their way home from work or into the night.”
Beckett’s is open Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm for dinner.
